Shopify Store Build

A Shopify Store That Works — Not Just One That Looks Good in Screenshots

Speed-optimized from day one. Analytics configured correctly. Checkout that doesn't fight your customers.

Overview

Speed-optimized from day one. Analytics configured correctly so you know what's actually happening. Checkout flow that doesn't fight your customers. App stack that doesn't slow the page down before anyone sees it.

If you need to build a Shopify store from scratch — or rebuild one that's accumulated two years of technical debt — this is what we do. A Shopify store build is a complete setup: theme configuration, products, payments, shipping, apps, speed, SEO structure, and post-launch support.

We are a Shopify store setup agency for merchants who want it done right the first time. If you've been looking to hire a Shopify developer, a full-build engagement from an agency gives you a complete, launch-ready store — not just a developer for a few hours.

Who This Is For

Two Types of Merchants. One Build Process.

New Brands

New Brands Launching on Shopify

You have a product. You need a store. You want it done right the first time rather than patching problems six months in.

The most common mistake we see with new store launches: starting on the wrong foundation. A theme with too much built into it, an app stack that looked useful in the free trial period but now loads 12 scripts on every page, analytics that fires events but doesn't connect to ad platforms. Getting this right at the start is cheaper than fixing it after you've got traffic.

Rebuilds

Existing Stores That Need a Rebuild

Your store has been running for two or three years. It's accumulated patches. The theme has been updated so many times it barely resembles the original. You've got seven apps and you're not sure what half of them do.

A rebuild resets the foundation. Same products, same customers, different and faster everything else. If you're also migrating from another platform — WooCommerce — we handle the platform transfer and redirect mapping alongside the build.

Case Study
3.4%

Conversion rate from her first Meta campaign after launch. She'd never seen above 1.8% on the old store.

Sophie had been running her home goods store for three years on a heavily customized theme. She'd hired three different developers over time and none of them had left clean code. Her mobile PageSpeed score was 41. She knew it was slow but didn't know how slow was too slow.

We rebuilt her store from scratch on a current-generation theme, migrated her 800 products, and rebuilt only the customizations that were actually earning their place. Post-launch PageSpeed: 78 on mobile. LCP: 1.1 seconds. She ran her first Meta campaign two weeks after launch.

Scope

What's Included in a Shopify Store Setup

Every store we build is a custom build. That starts with theme selection and full configuration, and the core pages your store needs: homepage, collection pages, product pages, about, contact, and FAQ. Your products are added and organized, your payment gateway is set up, and shipping is configured with rates, zones, and free shipping thresholds. We install the app stack that earns its place — reviews, email capture, analytics, and cookie consent — then run a speed optimization pass and put the right SEO structure in place.

From there, the build goes deeper than configuration. We develop custom theme sections and a custom product page layout, set up upsell and cross-sell, and integrate your email marketing. The advanced app stack covers subscriptions, loyalty, wishlist, and back-in-stock. Analytics is configured properly — GA4, Meta Pixel, and Google Ads conversion tracking — and we set up Shopify Markets for multi-language or multi-currency selling. Post-launch support is included once the store is live.

Speed

What "Speed-Optimized" Actually Means

We include speed optimization in every build because slow stores lose sales before they even start. This is not a checkbox item.

Speed optimization on a new build means selecting a theme with a fast baseline (under 200ms TTFB, clean Liquid code), configuring only the apps you need with each tested for performance impact, compressing and correctly sizing all product images, removing unused theme sections and scripts before launch, and verifying Core Web Vitals scores before handing over.

A store we built in late 2025 launched with an LCP of 890ms on mobile. Their first paid campaign ran two days after launch. When you start fast, you don't have to fix fast later.

Scope

What's Not Included

We're direct about scope. A store build does not include:

  • Copywriting for product descriptions or page content
  • Product photography or image editing
  • Logo design or brand identity
  • Social media setup
  • Ad campaign creation or management
  • Custom app development
  • ERP or third-party system integration
  • Headless or Hydrogen builds

If you need copywriting or photography, have that ready before the build starts. We can work with your existing assets or placeholder content, but copy and images that arrive after the build starts create delays.

What's Next

What Happens After the Build

A store launch is not the end of the work. It's the beginning.

After launch, most stores need ongoing development support as new needs emerge, CRO work as real traffic data reveals where visitors are dropping off, speed monitoring as apps accumulate over time, and A/B testing to improve conversion rate systematically.

Our Shopify Growth Retainer is the natural next step after a build.

Build clients who move to a retainer within 30 days of launch start with a full picture of the store's baseline. That context makes the first months of retainer work more efficient.

Process

How the Shopify Store Build Works

02

Your project opens in Basecamp.

You have access from day one. You can see exactly what we’re working on.

We configure the store, add products, set up payments and shipping, and run the speed optimization pass.

04

Review and revisions.
